Chrysalis was honored to be named a beneficiary of the grand opening of Nordstrom Santa Monica Place on August 25. It was an unabashed fete, featuring cocktails, dinner, and a live performance by Michael Buble. Longtime Chrysalis supporter, Carol Ann Hess, headed up a dynamic event committee for the sold-out evening, which raised over $150,000 for Chrysalis and the Children’s Institute, Inc.
Mission
Chrysalis is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to find and retain employment.

The Rhino Records Pop-Up Sale located in Westwood was filled with fun Pop Culture merchandise and live entertainment, and all net proceeds benefitted Chrysalis’ life-changing employment programs. Rhino Records began with Richard Foos (Chrysalis Board Member) who took his love for music, and opened the first Rhino Records store years ago. The original store has since closed, but re-emerged over a two-week period in May of 2010. Classic paraphernalia, music CDs, collector’s items, among other items, were donated from all over the country. The goal was to help raise funds for Chrysalis, spread awareness about the mission, and even employ some of Chrysalis’ own workers.
