Paul Mitchell, along with CEO and Co-Founder, John Paul DeJoria, have been longtime supporters of Chrysalis. This year, the brand is supporting Chrysalis’ Women's Empowerment Program, that provides a forum for female clients to come together and develop workplace skills and network with professional mentors, helping them reenter the workforce. Paul Mitchell has provided head-to-toe transformations, monetary and career support for select program participants, helping them color their confidence and get a fresh start. A special event was recently held at the Chrysalis center in Santa Monica where selected participants revealed their new looks and celebrated their achievements in the program.

On November 3, 2011, we welcomed 70 Chrysalis supporters and their guests at the second annual Chrysalis in Autumn event held at the recently-opened Mr. C Hotel. Guests were treated to an exquisite meal with wine pairings, and world-reknowned service made famous by the Cipriani family. The evening's program included special guests: skid row's Senior Lead Officer Deon Joseph, downtown real-estate developer Tom Gilmore, and one of Chrysalis' own success stories, Gregory Price. The conversation delved into the realities of homelessness and poverty in our city, the roles played by businesses and the larger community, and the impact of Chrysalis' work. Since the start of the economic downturn, Chrysalis has experienced a 54% increase in people seeking our services. The Downtown Chrysalis Center serves as a beacon of hope to an average of 225 clients each day, with peaks of 400 clients per day. But at a time when our services are needed more than ever, we have run out of space. Further complicating matters, Chrysalis Enterprises, our transitional jobs program, along with our administrative offices, are housed in a separate location two doors down from the program office. We are excited to unveil a solution to this problem. With the expertise of architects and contractors, a complete design and renovation plan is in the works that will transform the cramped and inadequate center to over 11,000 square feet of contiguous program and administrative space that will meet our needs for the next ten years.
