On Wednesday morning, Chrysalis was thrilled to join others from across Los Angeles for Goodwill Southern California’s Breakfast Forum – “Tapping the Talents of Unique Populations: Inside the Employment Movement to Address Homelessness in Southern California.” Together, individuals from local nonprofits and public agencies proposed a new plan for confronting the issue of homelessness through employment.

The event featured a panel with representatives from Kaiser Permanente, Downtown Women’s Center, and Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) focusing on homelessness and the potential of social enterprises, as well as the institutional boundaries that make it difficult for individuals to rise out of poverty.

Chrysalis President & CEO Mark Loranger, alongside Mayor Garcetti and Supervisor Ridley-Thomas, then had the honor of announcing that through collaboration with service providers, as well as City and County agencies, the Everyone Works Coalition is committing to help 15,000 individuals experiencing homelessness obtain employment by 2022!

Coalition Partners Include: Downtown Women’s Center, New Economics for Women, Social Model Recovery Systems, Homeless Health Care Los Angeles, The Leadership LAB, REDF, #LARISE, Economic & Workforce Development Department, Los Angeles County Workforce Development, Aging & Community Services, Mayor Eric Garcetti, United Way of Greater Los Angeles, Chrysalis, and Amistad de Los Angeles – Amity Foundation.

Chrysalis is excited to be a part of this amazing group committed to changing lives through jobs!
